Oh iPad
My children LOVE the iPad. Callie Beth has bunches of apps and amazes me what she can do with it. Ben loves to see what his sister is doing and I know loves when they video and take pictures at the daycare. So whenever Callie Beth gets it out, Ben follows her around. I am so glad I captured this…melts my heart!
My kiddos
We have been pretty busy getting ready for birthdays and just everyday life.
Here are some recent pictures…
Callie Beth all geared up to go ride her bike.
And here is what they do in the morning…this picture of Ben looks very similar to Jake when he was a baby (mostly because of the eyes). Ben sleeps on his belly which makes him have puffy eyes when he wakes up.
This little girl has no fear and has some pretty good balance…

Callie Beth’s first trip to the dentist
Callie Beth had her first dentist appointment today! It was more of a “get acquainted” visit and look at her bite, teeth, etc. I was a little nervous but we talked a lot about it and she did awesome! I was so proud of her.
So much snow…in March
We have had some crazy weather….All day at school on Monday, we kept talking about how it looked like it was going to snow and how cold it was. We checked the weather several times and it didn’t say anything about snow! Well, Monday night it started snowing (then the winter weather advisory was issued). It was coming down fast and it wasn’t stopping anytime soon. It was a very wet snow.
We ended up with 8 inches at our house. Crazy for March and that much snow near the coast. Needless to say, school was canceled. Because the snow was so wet and everything is super saturated, TONS of trees and power lines were down. Most major roads were closed. It took Jake over 30 minutes to get to work. We lost power for about 12 hours.
Jake heading down the driveway to go to work…
I was excited to get out and play in it and so was Callie Beth. I thought it would be best to wait till Ben went down for a nap. It was so deep, I think he would have hated it. Good thing, because Callie Beth didn’t like it so much. It was hard to walk in. We tried sledding but I’d have to carry her back up the hill every time which was tiring.
Excited to get out there…
And this is what happens when you try to get her to make a snow angel…ha ha

Love Leggos!
These two love to play leggos together. Of course, there are issues when Ben tries to know down Callie Beth’s tower but it works out. As you can see in the pictures, Ben actually tries to build stuff. He also took it upon himself to pick these all up and put them in the bucket. Good job!
Ben is 11 Months Old!
Wow! In a month, Ben will be 1 year old! This year is going by too fast….
Here is what is going on with Ben these days…
- He has 8 teeth (4 top and 4 bottom). He is now working on his molars.
- He can stand on his own as long as he wants to.
- He has taken 2-3 steps on his own.
- He plays hide-and-seek. He will lift up his blankie over his head to hide. He also loves to hide in the curtains.
- He is trying to transition to 2 naps a day but still takes 3 naps every now and then at home.
- He LOVES toys…He will sit and play with toys for quite awhile.
- He is eating everything we are now and LOVES it! He is still a great eater.
- He is showing that he is understanding what we say. He is starting to listen to “No Ben” When you ask him to “Come here,” he will. He is starting to give kisses.
- He tries to keep up with his sister.
- He is starting to show some more personality. He now gets mad when you try to take something away from him. He will also try to take toys away from Callie Beth or stiff arm her to get her out of the way.
- He can climb all the way up our stairs and on to the kids chairs.
- He can say “bye bye”. It also sounds like he says “yea”. He says book and ball but leaves off the ending sounds.
- He waves hello and goodbye.
- He signs more and all done.
- He cheeses really big when you ask him to smile :)
- He wakes up so happy every day which always puts a huge smile on my face.

Black Butte 2012
We had our 2nd annual trip to Black Butte last weekend with all of Jake’s family.
Last year, we were spoiled with a winter wonderland. This year, there hasn’t been much snow and none when we got there. After we put the kids to bed Friday night, it started snowing! They were SO excited getting up to snow Saturday morning.
