First Baseball Game

Our good friend, Aaron (Groomsman in the wedding) plays baseball for Triple A: Las Vegas 51s. They were in town playing Portland so we went up for the day to spend some time with Aaron and his family and then to watch some baseball. It just so happened to be the hottest day of the year. The temperature at game time was 108!! We did our best to say some what cool. Callie Beth did great! Here are some pics. We didn't make it through the entire game to get a pic of Callie Beth and Aaron but we will when they come back in September.

4 Month Dr. Visit

Well we went today for Callie Beth's 4 month doctor visit. She was a little late on nap time and didn't get a full one in which makes a grumpy baby. Not good when getting shots!! The doctor said she looks wonderful. She is perfectly healthy and developmentally on schedule.

Here are her stats:
weight......12 pounds 4 ounces.......20th percentile
height......24 and a 1/2 inches......75th percentile
head........16 inches................50th percentile

She had a hard time with her shots and it took quite awhile to get her to sleep. She is resting now...hopefully she will wake up a little happier.

Busy Busy

We have been super busy lately.

Jake had to take a last minute business trip to Seattle. Since I had never been, we got to tag along. We went up Wednesday afternoon. We spent Thursday sight seeing downtown and at Pikes Market. I wish I lived near there just for the fresh flowers! Friday we did a little more sight seeing. One of the highlights was REI. It was HUGE and we definitely did some damage :) It had an indoor climbing wall, playground, restaurant, riding trails outside and lots of awesome stuff to buy. Friday evening we were invited to the Christening of an Alaskan crabbing boat and catered dinner while cruising Puget Sound before it heads to Dutch Harbor. What an awesome experience! The boat was beautiful. It was a perfect evening and the Puget sound was gorgeous. We also got to experience going through the locks. We think it is pretty neat that Callie Beth's first boat ride was on an Alaskan Crab boat.

We drove home Friday night after the Christening and got home around 4am. The Toledo summer festival was this weekend, which is a pretty big deal here. Callie Beth and I did a 5K walk Saturday morning and then went to the parade. Jake had to work at the festival for a few hours. We went to the festival that evening to get some food. Needless to say, we went home and crashed.

Sunday, Jake's Aunt Gale and Uncle Jeff had a housewarming party up near Portland. We rode up with Jake's parents. Their house is beautiful! It was really great to see the Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. There was a professional photographer at the housewarming party. I will post more pics when we get those!

I must say with how much we have been traveling and been in the car, Callie Beth is a trooper! She does amazing in the car and has done pretty well sticking to some sort of a schedule. I'm sure that will all change after shots.

Here is the boat we were on.

Oh..Callie Beth has found her feet and tries super hard to get them in her mouth. She is almost there!

4 Months Old!

Today Callie Beth is 4 months old. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. She has changed a lot in the last couple weeks and her personality is starting to show. We are having so much fun and she provides us with lots of laughs. Here is what is going on with her now:

*Her eyes are still blue :)
*She has rolled over a couple times, both front-to-back, and back-to-front. She can also scoot around pretty well.
*She has found her feet. She loves to grab them and roll from side to side.
*She is always making noises. Each day she figures out that she can find a higher pitch. She is now screaming, but completely happy. Jake thinks she sounds like the perfect little elk call.
*She has discovered toys and is starting to play with them.
*She will put anything in her mouth that she can get her hands on and can even get her fist in there when she tries.
*She will pick up her pacifier and try to put it back in her mouth. She gets it sometimes and gets really frustrated when she can't.
*She loves to be up: standing, jumping, walking, etc.
*She is constantly drooling or spitting.
*She still loves her swing but I think the jumper may be getting to be a favorite. Her swing can always put her to sleep.
*Her sleeping has been off since she got sick a few weeks ago and then going to the beach cabin. We were finally getting back on schedule but the last 5 nights (not that I am counting) she has been waking up twice to eat. I sure hope it is a growth spurt. She normally goes to bed at 8, wakes up at 2 to eat and goes back to bed till 6 or 7. These last 5 days she has been getting up around midnight and then again at 4 and sleeping till 6 or 7. She usually takes 3 one hour naps.
*We are still nursing and will probably start rice cereal soon.
*A lot of her hair is falling out.
*She is still a little petite thing. Everyone says she is very dainty.

We go Monday for her doctor's appointment and shots :( I will let you know how it goes.

Bouncy Bouncy

Callie Beth LOVES to be up...standing, bouncing, walking with dad, etc. We have been talking about getting a jumper for her. Last night, we went to hang out with Joe, Kasey, Jill & Chad. Kasey let us borrow this jumper. As you can see, she really likes it. She is still figuring out how to do it. It probably won't be long till she is just jumping all around.

Beach Cabin: Cannon Beach 2009

Hi! We took a little mini-vacation to the beach cabin in Cannon Beach. We went up Wednesday night till Sunday. We had a great time! It was so nice to get away. It was also the first trip away from home for Callie Beth. She did amazing!!! Here are a few of our favorite pictures from the trip.

The weather on the Oregon coast is crazy. It got a little chilly one night (as you can see with the jacket and hat.) We took her swimming in the pool for the first time. She didn't quite know what to make of it but didn't fuss and by the end was cooing. She rolled over for the first time too. I will post some videos here in the next few days.
