2 month appointment

Today we took Callie Beth for her 2 month appointment. She is doing great! Perfectly healthy! She slept through the heal prick and took her other 3 shots like a champ. The nurse was very quick and she stopped crying as soon as I picked her up. She is doing pretty well now...sneaking out some smiles, a little fussy and very clingy! Her next appointment will be when she is 4 months old. Here is her info:

Weight 10 pounds 2 ounces..........25th percentile
Height 23 inches..........75th percentile
Head 15 inches..........25th percentile

On the weekends we sometimes like to bring Callie Beth in the bed with us and we all go back to sleep for an hour or two to get some extra rest. Jake took this with his phone earlier this morning. As you can tell, she was cuddling with dad before he got up :)

We are having a great weekend. Yesterday I went to get my haircut. That was the longest I have left her but she was with daddy so I wasn't worried. I asked what they did and he said "we slept on the couch". They had a good day. Last night Jake and I had a fundraiser dinner to go to. Grandma and Grandpa Postlewait came over to babysit :).

Today, Callie Beth and I have been doing little things around the house and hanging out. Jake stuffed a deer and then painted all the trim on the house. He was ready to spend some time with Callie Beth when he was finished. This is what they did: Here I was playing with the color accent on our camera. Thought it was kind of neat with the Japanese Maple.

2 Months Old!

Callie Beth is 2 months old today! She goes to the doctor on Wednesday for her check up and shots :(. Here is some fun info. about her:
*She's doing really great at holding her head up.
*She is very alert and loves to watch what is going on. She knows when we leave the room and will start yelling.
*She knows our voices and will look for us when she hears it.
*CB smiles and coos a lot and is generally a very happy baby, especially in the morning! She gets fussy at night when it is time for her to go to bed. She really fights going to sleep at night.
*She is squealing when she gets really excited.
*She goes to bed between 9 and 10. She wakes up between 2 and 3 to eat and goes right back to sleep until 6 or 7.
*Her eyes are still blue.
*CB loves her swing and being out in the sun.
*She is becoming much more independent. There are times now when she just wants to be left alone.
*She really loves to stand up and bounce (of course with us balancing her). She must have strong little legs already.
*She LOVES to lay on her daddy's chest.
*CB really enjoys her bath. She just lays there and doesn't make a sound.
*She loves to bury her face into things when she sleeps (it isn't a good thing but how do you stop it?) Callie Beth makes this face a lot. For some reason it reminds me of my sister when she was a baby :)

First Swim

We are having beautiful weather this weekend. Grandma Postlewait and Callie Beth's cousins, Samuel & William came over yesterday to enjoy the weather. We got an alligator baby pool to enjoy with CB this summer and decided yesterday was the perfect day to get it out. We had a great time! Here is a picture of Callie Beth enjoying the sun today

8 weeks old

Hi! Callie Beth will be 8 weeks tomorrow. I can't believe how much she is changing. She goes to the doctor for her 2 month check up on the 27th (her doc will be out of town all next week). I will report more then :) Have a great weekend

newborn shoot

Kacy Jo came out when Callie Beth was 3 weeks old to do a newborn shoot. She was the photograper for our wedding. She has never photographed babies before and wanted to get some experience. I think she did a great job! Here are the highlights!

7 weeks

Hi...not much to report. We went for a weight check yesterday and she is up to 9 pounds. She will be 7 weeks tomorrow. I took her to school to meet the 1st graders. They were super excited to see us and were so quiet when we were in the room. Callie Beth was asleep the entire time so they didn't get to see much activity. Have a wonderful Mother's Day!

my 6 week check up

I went yesterday for my 6 week check up. Everything went well. My doctor is concerned about my tail bone and is recommending physical therapy. I have to look into finding someone on the coast so I don't have to drive to the valley so often. We talked about my delivery and maybe things we will do different next time. She told me not to have 8 pound babies anymore :) I can start working out again...I am very excited about getting back into shape.

Callie Beth is doing great. She is cooing a lot and will copy us sticking out her tongue. Here are a few new pictures of her. We are having so much fun with her!

6 weeks old

We went for a weight check yesterday. She gained 4 more ounces! She is up to 8 pounds 13 ounces. I can't believe she will be 6 weeks tomorrow. Here is a picture from this morning. She was very tired...we had a late night last night at Grandma and Grandpa Postlewait's house. It is fun to see Samuel and William with her. Samuel loves to talk about how little Baby Callie's hands are and how big his are. He also told me last night that I wasn't Callie Beth's mommy, I was Aunt Liz. So cute!
