So this week has been crazy! I have had parent-teacher conferences the last two days. It is always great to meet with parents but it calls for 2 very long 12 hour work days. I have really missed Callie Beth….she is asleep by the time I get home. Anyway, Jake carved a pumpkin with her the other night while I was gone. We are really excited to dress her up…stay tuned to see what she will be!

So Silly!
So Callie Beth has started ‘attacking’ me. I was wondering where this came from when yesterday I was trying to get her to laugh by pretending to chomp on her neck. She started doing to back to me. Last night she started doing it to Jake too. I quickly got the video camera. She is so funny!
On the move!
So, Callie Beth is now moving about the house. The only problem is that she isn’t moving forward. She pushes herself backwards. The wood floors help quite a bit. It is quite funny because she gets pretty frustrated. Since she is going backwards, she can not see where she is going and gets stuck. Here are some pictures of her getting stuck around the living room.

7 Months Old!
Callie Beth is 7 months old. We think she has changed so much in the last month. What a fun little girl! She is such a sweet heart!
Here is what is going on with her these days:
weight…..15 pounds….20th percentile
- She is trying to crawl. She will go from sitting to getting on all fours. She rocks back and forth. She tries to go for a toy but hasn’t been able to coordinate her arms and legs. She moves backwards and spins around pretty well though. We are really close to having our lives change even more.
- She has her two bottom teeth. It seems as though she is working on the next ones. The drooling has turned on full force in the last week.
- She has a bunch of new sounds but the ones you hear a lot are: Da Da, Nae Nae, and Hi.
- Her favorite thing to do is jump (still). When ever you hold her, she wants to be standing on your lap jumping. All you need to do is balance her but she does the jumping. She actually bends her little legs and bounces. When she needs a break, she sticks it. She will let you know with her grunting and growling when she is ready to go again.
- She is eating all kinds of fruits and veggies. We have not found any food she does not like. She will not take juice yet. She just spits it out.
- She can stand pretty well now. She just needs to hold on to something to balance herself.
- She is sleeping pretty much the same. From 6:30-6:30 with waking up once to eat and going right back to sleep. Our pediatrician said we could try to get rid of that middle of the night feeding since she wasn’t finishing her bottle then. Ever since he said that, she finishes her bottle like she is starving. She must have known what was about to happen. :)
- She loves older kids. She just laughs and has so much fun with them!
- Her hair is really coming in fast. It is a very light brown.
- Her eyes are still blue.
- She picks up her arms for you to pick her up. She will also stiff arm you if she doesn’t like what you are doing.
- She helps you get her dressed now. She will push her arms through on her sleeves to put a shirt on and when you are taking it off, she will pull her arms down for you.
- She can officially get out of her Bumbo! Sneaky little thing!
North Carolina
We took our first trip to North Carolina this past weekend. I was getting over being sick and Callie Beth got sick while we were there. Besides that, we had a great time. It was wonderful having everyone meet our sweet little girl. She did amazing on the plane. Quite a long trip for a baby (about 7 hours of flying). She handled the time change pretty well. With it being such a short trip, we really tried keeping her on West Coast time. When we got home, she went right back to her normal schedule.

Proud Dad and his silly girl!
Jake gave Callie Beth a baseball and she picked it up with her left hand (it is way to early to tell but a dad can dream right?) It quickly turned into a game of throwing the ball on the floor and dad picking it up!
Where did it go?
Callie Beth has always loved her head covered up when she is sleeping. You hand her a blanket and this is what she does. A little scary at first but this is how she sleeps. Maybe because of how long her head was wedged in my ribs…who knows? Don’t worry…she IS able to breath and move it.

Busy Busy and update
So last Monday, Jake took Callie Beth for her 6 month check up. She did great. She laughed through the first shot…made a face for the second, and cried for the third! She is perfectly healthy and developmentally on schedule. The doctor said we are blessed to have such a great baby! I agree!
Here are her stats:
weight……….14 pounds 11 ounces………25th percentile
height……….26 and 3/4 inches……….80th percentile
head……….16 and 1/4 inches………25th percentile
Callie Beth’s 2nd tooth came in. The first one came in on her 1/2 birthday and the next came in 9 days later. We have been very busy. Last weekend, Jake’s cousin got married so we were up in Canby. We had a great time! Needless to say, the weeks are very busy with being back to work. 31 kiddos really tires me out! Here are a few cute pictures :)
If you look close, you can see her teeth.
She loves to tilt her head like this
Loves her blankies!!
