little update

Just a little update....we finished childbirth classes lastnight. I was actually pretty impressed. Although I have been doing a lot of reading, I learned a lot. It was also nice for Jake to learn what is going to be happening and help him get ready. It was once a week for 4 weeks, 3 hours each night. It is nice to have it over because it made for some LONG Tuesdays.

Something we are pretty excited about....we have been saving our Sportsmans Warehouse rewards for this Kelty Kids Child Carrier. We have some friends who have similiar ones who love it. We can't wait to take Callie Beth camping and hiking. Jake can even take her when he goes scouting for animals!

32 week appointment

I went today for my 32 weeks appointment. Callie Beth is doing great. They did a quick ultrasound to see where she is because of the pain. She has finally turned...not breech anymore!!! Very good news but I am still in a lot of pain. I was hoping when she turned the pain would end but that isn't the case. Her little bottom is right up where her head used to be. Anyway, the doctor said there just isn't enough room up there and my ribs, muscles, and ligaments are just streching out. She gave me pain meds for when it gets really bad so we will see how that helps. She said she would put me on bedrest if I wanted. I want to try and work as long as I can since I will be taking off the rest of the year. We are shooting for another 4 weeks of work (hopefully longer.) My next appointment is Feb. 4th.

Yes...I know it has been awhile since the last post. Sorry. I have decided that Callie Beth is very comfortable being breech. It is still hurting and causing me to be pretty uncomfortable. Going back to work has been interesting. I wish I could teach laying down. Lets hope she turns soon or it is going to be a long 8 weeks. She is a very active little girl!

Jake and I have been taking a birthing class on Tuesday nights. So far I have been pretty impressed. A lot of useful information. We have 2 weeks left.

I go for my 32 week appointment on Thursday so I will post an update after.

30 week appointment

I went yesterday for my 30 week appointment. Everything went well. My glucose test results were good. Little Callie Beth is still breech. Her heart rate was at 148. Lets hope she turns soon.

Happy New Year!

Well, it has been an interesting couple of weeks. We found out little Callie Beth is breech. Her head is right underneath my sternum which is causing pain in my ribs. I just can't get comfortable.

Our trip to Asheville was an adventure. Portland had a blizzard on the day we were to fly out. Our flight got cancelled. We were very lucky to get a flight out the next day. The airport opened at 11. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 12:15. We left at 1:45 and the airport closed at 3. We had a wonderful time in Asheville. Mandy, Mom, and Amanda threw me a baby shower which was so nice.

We flew back into Portland and my car wouldn't start. We had it towed to a shop and Jake's mom came to get us (THANK YOU). Turns out the car's computer system didn't like the spare keys that Jake packed so we overnighted the real keys to Portland and it started right up. I guess my little Jeep Liberty is too smart for us. Jake and his dad went to pick it up this morning.

Turns out my glucose testing results were not very good. I had to fast for 14 hours Tuesday night and went yesterday morning for another test. I got my blood drawn and then you get to drink this nasty drink and they take your blood every hour for three hours. I brought a movie to watch and finished my thank you cards. I should hear back tomorrow.

We are very excited that Callie Beth will be joining us this year. I know 2009 will be an amazing year with lots of changes. We wish everyone a very Happy New Year!

26 weeks belly

I went today for my 27 week appointment (I will be in NC for 28 weeks). Her heart rate was 145. As of now, she is breech...which is why I have this pain in my ribs. Hopefully she will turn soon. I also had my glucose testing and should hear soon if something is wrong. I got the all clear to travel, I just have to take it easy. We will be in Asheville from the 21st to the 29th. :)

24 weeks belly

Happy Thanksgiving! It is exciting to think about next year at this time, we will have an 8 month old little girl.

I went for my 24 week appointment on Tuesday. Everything went well. The heart rate was at 148. I go again at 27 weeks (Decemeber 18th) because at 28 weeks we will be in North Carolina. Yea! I will have glucose testing then.

Jake put together Callie Beth's dresser this week. It looks great! I have been making burp cloths out of cloth diapers, fabric, and ribbon. They are really cute and inexpensive. It has been fun experimenting with our new sewing maching. It is industrial strength so Jake can sew leather on it for making moccasins and bear rugs, etc.

My principal scheduled a meeting for me on Dec. 1st so my 24 week appt. is now moved to Tues., Nov. 25th. I will update you after the appt.

20 weeks belly

We've decided on a name. Her name will be Callyn Elizabeth Postlewait and we will call her Callie Beth.

I went for my 20 week appointment today. Her heart rate was at 148. The doctor said everything from the ultrasound looked perfect. I've gained a total of 5 pounds so far. As you can see, I posted 20 week belly pics....It's really popping now. I go for my 24 week appointment on December 1st (a little late due to Thanksgiving.)

10/24/2008: It's A Girl!

19 weeks ultrasound

I went for an ultrasound today. It's A Girl! They measured all kinds of things and she looked wonderful. Her heart rate was at 137. The doctor will read the sonogram and I will know more about her measurements on Wednesday when I go for my 20 week appointment.

16 weeks belly

I went today for my 16 week check-up (October 2nd). The baby's heart rate was at 142. It was hard to get the heart rate reading because the baby was very active. I gained a couple pounds so now I am back at my pre-pregnancy weight. I got my flu shot so everyone can rest easy now :) The doctor said everything looks wonderful. I go October 24th for an ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby and then back on October 29th for my 20 week check-up.

I went for my 12 weeks appointment on September 2nd (the first day of school). The baby's heart rate was at 160. All blood work and other tests came back normal. I lost a couple pounds but my doctor wasn't concerned considering I wasn't feeling that well for awhile. I go back for my 16 week appointment on October 2nd.
