It’s a BOY!!

Wednesday I had my 20 week ultrasound (a couple days early).  The baby’s heart rate was at 148.  With Callie Beth, we had to wait till all the other measurements were done to find out.  With this one, it was pretty clear right away what the sex was.

I had a feeling it was a boy and kept telling Jake but he doubted me.  Just like with Callie Beth, I was correct :)  When she showed us the shot of his anatomy, I looked over to Jake and he was just beaming!  It brought tears to my eyes!  A little baseball player and hunting buddy!

Needless to say, we are THRILLED!

I am officially half-way there!  I am 20 weeks today.  I can’t believe how fast this is flying by the 2nd time around!  The results from the ultrasound were perfect!   I won’t go back till 25 weeks….after Christmas weigh in (Great!)

The Other Side of Callie Beth

Okay….I have to start off by saying we are very lucky to have such a good little girl.  It is RARE for her to throw a fit.  She deals with frustration pretty well.  (And I know this could all change).

BUT when she doesn’t feel well, oh boy!  This little attitude comes out and she gets whiny (as we all do when we are sick).  Before this weekend, I can’t even remember when she was in time out last.

None of us have been sick since June so I knew we were past due for something.  In the past 5 days, Callie Beth has had the stomach bug and now my cold.  Poor girl….she is a trooper though!

I had to take pictures because we think it is pretty funny!

If you tell her to go sit in time out, she will go on her own.  Here, she decided to lay down.001 Here starts the fake cry to see if we will tell her to get up…Nope002Okay, that didn’t work so here is the bottom lip… 003Hmm…let me see if they are even looking at me. 004Okay….let me try the crying again. 005 Now, all of these faces took place in about a minute.

Happy Thanksgiving

We wanted to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!  We are lucky to have such wonderful family and friends.  We are thankful for each and every one of you!

This Thanksgiving was a little different.  Callie Beth came down with the stomach bug.  Since she was still running a fever, I stayed home with her while Jake went to his parents.  Luckily, I have such great in-laws that sent wonderful food home for us!

Hope you had a wonderful day!

Callie Beth’s First Snow Day!

We woke up to a beautiful snow this morning!  I was so excited to get Callie Beth out in it.  Snow at the coast doesn’t happen too often so it is pretty exciting.  They actually canceled school yesterday for today because of all this bad weather coming in (which is unusual).  A six day weekend sounds good to me :)

After a long time playing in the snow, I had to drag her inside to get warm.  She is already asking to go back out!

Carter / Elliot Wedding

Jake and I traveled back to North Carolina this past weekend for Adrienne Elliot and Joe Carter’s Wedding.

This was my first time leaving Callie Beth.  I had a really hard time at first but was able to relax and have a good time.  Boy, was a difference it is to fly without a little one.  We flew through the night Wednesday night and got home late Sunday night.

We had such a good time.  It was so strange not having Callie Beth with us.  We were so busy the entire weekend, time just flew by.

Thursday we relaxed, went to my sister’s basketball scrimmage, grabbed dinner and back to my sister’s house to love on my nephew.  Nolan is absolutely adorable!

Friday, we had the bridesmaid luncheon, manicures and pedicures, rehearsal, and rehearsal dinner.

Saturday, we had spent the day with Adrienne getting ready and all that fun stuff.  Then, the wedding.  It was a beautiful and fun wedding.  Congrats Joe and Adrienne :)  Most of the people from the wedding headed downtown.  It so happens that most of my guy friends were in town for another wedding.  They met up with us downtown!  It was SO great to see everyone!

I am disappointed to say that with how busy we were, I did not take many pictures.  I didn’t even get a picture with my husband all dressed up!

Here are the few pictures I got…

Onesies for Nolan

My sister asked me to make her some onesies for Nolan.  Here is how they turned out:IMG_0346IMG_0344IMG_0343IMG_0349IMG_0351IMG_0352IMG_0354 Of course I had to make Callie Beth a matching alligator:IMG_0357 Amanda asked me to make Breck a pillowcase for him:IMG_0342

Happy Belated Birthday Dad!

Jake’s birthday was on Wednesday!  We made him a really nice dinner and gave him his gifts!  I took a couple of pics for Jake’s office.

16 Weeks

I had my 16 week doctor appointment this past week.  Everything looked great.  The baby’s heart rate was at 156.  We go in less than 3 weeks for my 20 week ultrasound (a couple days early).  Our appointment is November 24th (the day before Thanksgiving).  We are so excited to find out if Callie Beth is going to have a little brother or sister :)

Here are the belly pics:  I did it with CB so I have to do it with this baby too….

Happy Halloween

We had a wonderful Halloween!  Our neighborhood is the place to be in our town.  I didn’t count our candy but our neighbor went through 400 pieces in 2 hours.  Jake’s parents came over for dinner.

Callie Beth helped answer the door.  At first she didn’t know what was going on.  But, I think it took her 2 minutes to figure it out.  She would run as fast as she could when the doorbell rang.  I would open the door for her.  She would grab candy out of the bowl, put it in their bag, and tell them “thank you”.  She would then wave, tell them “bye” and shut the door on them :)  The costumes didn’t faze her one bit.  It was so much more fun seeing her do that.  Needless to say, there was no way she was going to bed with all the excitement.  She stayed up until 7:30 when we ran out of candy!

What fun memories….I just love her!

Pumpkin Carving

Callie Beth is loving to help as much as she can around the house.  She really enjoyed helping us carve our pumpkin.  She was not so sure at first but them jumped right in.
