Merry Christmas

After Callie Beth’s morning nap, we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Postlewait’s house.  We had a great time with Grandma & Grandpa, Aunt Jill & Uncle Chad, Aunt Kasey & Uncle Joe, and cousins, Samuel, William, and Gwynn.

We opened gifts while munching all morning.  Then Callie Beth’s Great Auntie Ann, Uncle Rudi and second cousins Rachel, Kurt, Luke &  and his wife Kelsey came over and we had a wonderful dinner.

We are so thankful to have a wonderful family.  Thank you for everything!!!!  You are great!

Christmas Morning

We had a WONDERFUL Christmas morning.  Callie Beth slept till 7:15.  We then looked through our stockings and had a little fun.  We took a little break for breakfast and then opened the rest of the gifts.  She had a good time ripping through the paper and playing with her new toys.  It was perfect.

Christmas Eve

These posts are not going to be too long due to the fact that Callie Beth and I leave for Florida in the morning and I still have lots to do.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve.  I cooked a nice dinner while Jake and Callie Beth went for a drive.  It was great to have some time in the house to get stuff done.  We then got ready for bed and each opened one gift.  This is something I have always done and now something we will do each year.  It is fun to begin our own family traditions.

9 Months Old

IMG_2072 We are amazed that Callie Beth is 9 months old already.  Where is the time going?  She is an wonderful little girl and we are having so much fun with her.

Weight……..about 17 pounds……20th percentile

Height……….28 1/2 inches……….75th percentile

Here is what’s new this month:

  • She is everywhere!  She has many different crawling speeds.  It surprises me how fast she can get from one place to the next (when she wants to).  And it seems like she is always under my feet when I am cooking.
  • She is pulling up on everything and walking along the furniture.  She will let go and stand for a little.  She knows how to fall onto her bottom now.
  • She is trying to stand up on her own without holding on to things.
  • She likes walking while holding on to our fingers.  Her favorite is when I get her undressed for the bath.  We then walk in to the bathroom.  When she sees Jake and the bath running, she gets so excited.  She starts squealing and bouncing up and down.
  • She has 4 teeth (2 on bottom and 2 on top).  She is working on her 5th (on top).  We can see it right under the gum.
  • Sleeping has been going well.  She went through a little stage where we would put her to bed and then next thing we knew she was standing, yelling for us or playing.  She did that a couple times in the middle of the night too.  We had one rough night of her pretty mad at me and then all it took was me going and laying her back down and telling her to go to sleep.  She is sleeping about 12 hours at night.
  • She is a great eater.  I really haven’t found anything that she won’t eat.  She makes pretty good faces with avocado and elk.
  • She is starting to wave at us.
  • We are in the process of dropping her 3rd nap. ( I can’t believe it lasted this long).
  • She still LOVES to jump and bounce.  She also loves when Jake throws her up on the air.

She Makes Daddy Proud

Callie Beth definitely wants to eat everything we are eating.  Yesterday, Jake got a stick of elk pepperoni out for himself.  Callie Beth reached out and grabbed it from him.  Of course, he let her have it.  She sat on his lap for 30 minutes (the longest she has ever sat still) and gnawed on that thing.  She LOVED it!  Jake was so proud.  Note to self: bring one of these for the plane ride to Florida.

Peaches

Just had to share:

It fascinates me to see her brain work.  I know she is thinking “how can I get these into my mouth?”

My favorite is when she thinks she has one and opens up her hand to check.

Christmas Spirit

Callie Beth is in the Christmas Spirit!  I am pretty much done with my Christmas shopping (just some stocking stuffers for Jake and CB).  I have one more week of work then I will begin my baking.  It is really hard to wrap gifts when CB is around…my apologies if your gift is a little crinkly…she loves paper.

I am starting to get ready for our trip to Florida.  Callie Beth and I will be down there from December 26-31.  Jake can’t go as he is getting ready to open up the new branch for the bank.  We will miss him (I will especially miss him on the flight).  Any advice on flying from coast to coast by myself with a VERY active 9 month old?

Determined!

So Callie Beth wants to walk SO bad!  She is pulling up onto everything.  As usual, she wants to be standing and when she is up, she wants to walk.  In my opinion, she is too little but Jake doesn’t seem to think so.  She is just over 16 pounds but that isn’t going to stop her.

Here are some pictures of her using the Walk n’ Ride that the Retherfords got her.
