I can’t believe how fast the last 2 weeks have flown by! I am feeling pretty good (so much better than this time with Callie Beth). Ben had an appointment Monday for his PKU testing and a weight check. I was really interested in his weight of course. The little chunk gained 10 ounces in 7 days…WOW! He is now up to 9 pounds 4 ounces. What a difference than with CB! I was actually worried about how much he was sleeping. I guess that is what happens when babies are fat and happy! :)

We first want to say Happy Easter!
We had a wonderful Easter! Such a blessing to be home with our family of 4. My mom was in town and Jake’s parents come over for a yummy dinner. What a nice evening. Callie Beth loved her Easter basket with all her goodies and she really enjoyed hunting for eggs in the yard.
Jake’s Grandpa made this cradle. He was president of the Oregon Native American Indian Association a long time ago. Jake tries to carry on some of this by making moccasins and beading.
Is there such thing as too much love? If so, can that be a problem? This little lady loves her brother so very much! In fact, she loves him so much it is a problem. She wants to be with him every minute of the day. She wants to hold him, kiss him, hug him, change him, and sleep with him. The sleeping thing is an issue. We have had no problems with Callie Beth going to bed until now… For the first week we were home going to bed was a major fit AND she would wake up crying "I want Ben”. So cute and so frustrating at the same time. It has been better. She still cries going to bed but at least it isn’t an hour of screaming and putting her back in bed over and over again. She isn’t waking up anymore either. But…she is now really good at sneaking in our room and in our bed in the morning when she gets up (which we don’t mind one bit).
Such a good big sister

Ben had his one week check up. Everything looked perfect. I was wondering about his weight. I am 100% nursing. I thought he was eating well but after all Callie Beth’s issues I had my concerns. He gained 4 ounces in 4 days which is perfect. He is up to 8 pounds 10 ounces. He is such a good baby. All he does is eat and sleep. He looks like such a little chunk. I promise he doesn’t look that big in person.
This experience was totally different than Callie Beth’s birth. The night of the C-Section, I was already wanting to get up and walk around. Yes, I was sore and in pain but was doing so much better. And then it felt so good to not be hooked up to the wires anymore and get a shower!
I was doing so well my doctor released me to go home a day early on Wednesday. Too bad I needed my staples out and that had to be done Thursday. So we had to stay another night.

Grandma and Grandpa Postlewait brought Callie Beth when Ben was just hours old to meet her little brother.
She loved petting him, holding him and kissing him. She really loved the stickers the hospital gave her.
She did not like my bed or all the wires I was hooked to.
