Baby update: 33 weeks

I went for my 32 week check up on Thursday.  Jake took me because the winter weather we have had lately.  I saw Dr. Card this time.  Benjamin’s heart rate was at 134.  I am measuring perfect and my weight is exactly the same as it was with  CB at this time.  I find that strange because I feel so much bigger this time around.

I am having the same issues with rib and muscle pain as I did with Callie Beth.  It seems a little more bearable this time around (maybe because I expected it or because those muscles are stretched out).  I did hurt a muscle on my right side which is causing more pain than I need!  When it flares up, it feels like a knife is stabbing me (as if I knew what that felt like).  Tylenol does nothing for it but ice really helps!

We closed on our new house this week!  Yay!  We will take possession on Sunday, March 6th.  Jake will begin painting the bedrooms so the new carpet can be put in.  We already have lots of  stuff over there in the shop.  We will take lots more over next week too.  We will sleep at the old house until the paint and carpet are in (which will be the following weekend).  We are so excited to be in our new house!

Callie Beth has been sick all week.  Whatever this is, we are ready for it to go away.  It has been a rough week for all of us!  We want our happy, healthy little girl back :)

Benjamin will be arriving  in 6 weeks (from tomorrow).  We can’t wait but have so much to do in the mean time!

Black Butte Ranch

Last weekend, Jake’s whole family headed to Black Butte Ranch.  It is about a 3 hour drive but took a little longer because of all the snow.  It was our first family vacation together and it turned out great!  We all had a wonderful time.

The house was HUGE!  There were two staircases.  Callie Beth LOVED climbing up one, running across and going down the other with her cousins Sam and Will.  She also loved the snow and sledding.  When sledding, she always yelled “wee” going down hills.  By the end she would say “I want to go wee with Dad”.

We all forgot cameras but we also did some swimming.  Of course, our little fish loved the water.  She just kicked and splashed swimming around with her floaties on.  She didn’t want anyone to hold her (unless she started getting tired).

There was also a lot of relaxing, down time and playing :)  There are lots of pictures so enjoy….

These two are so funny together.  They both have some lessons to learn on sharing.  They both want what each other has but doesn’t want to give up their own toy.  It is quite funny to watch!IMG_4781

Thank you Merrie and Fred for a wonderful trip and to Joe, Kasey, Chad and Jill for great food!  Can’t wait to do it again :)

Happy Valentine’s Day

We had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!  We hope you did as well!

IMG_4637IMG_4638IMG_4641IMG_4647 This was new to us…Callie Beth hasn’t ever been too interested in t.v. (which we didn’t mind at all)  But lately she has shown some interest.  After dinner, she went and got the pillow and then laid down on the rug to enjoy some down time.  Too cute!IMG_4653IMG_4652

30 Weeks!

I was 30 weeks along on Monday!  I went last week for a check up.  Ben’s heart rate was 154.  I was measuring perfect and my weight is exactly the same than what it was with Callie Beth.  So, overall pretty good!

I am feeling okay.  Some days I feel pretty good and some days he is up in my ribs.  My muscles are starting to separate again (which I was hoping wouldn’t happen this time around) but we will manage :)  The energy is starting to leave me.  After teaching all day and coming home to an almost two year old, there isn’t much left of me after that!

We are getting really excited but still have a lot to do before he arrives (2 months from tomorrow)!

Packing and Packing

We have been doing a lot of packing lately.  We have most of it done except the stuff we are still using.

We are ready to close but the lady we are buying the house from is trying to find a place to live.  Our actual closing date is no later than March 11th but could be sooner if she finds a place sooner.  She is a super nice lady and has actually let us move stuff over into the shop.  We took two truck and trailer loads over last week and will probably take 2 more this week.  This will make it a lot easier come moving day.

With this taking a little extra time than we hoped, it has allowed us to order carpet for the bedrooms upstairs.  This way, Jake will be able to paint the bedrooms as soon as she moves out and carpet will be in the next day.

I am SO anxious to get in and start getting the nursery ready and Callie Beth’s new big girl room.  I am a super organized person so this is driving me a little nuts.  (Callie Beth’s room was ready 4 months before she came).  Oh well…we just can’t wait to be in our new home!

Here she is enjoying the swing bottom again.IMG_4621 So, this girl has NO fear.  I swear she is going to be a gymnast.  She loves to be tossed around and to be upside down.  Here she is trying to be Spiderman up on the ceiling.  IMG_4622 She is really in to helping (as usual).  She insisted on doing this.  She actually lifted that bin, put it on the cart, and rolled it into the garage.  It was a pretty light load :)IMG_4624IMG_4625 She also loves to color and write.  IMG_4627Lately, she is wanting her baby dolls to go to bed with her.  She arranged her gator, glow worm, and cabbage patch kid like this.  Silly!IMG_4628 She is talking so much now and making sentences all the time.  She had two more molars break through this week.  They take so long to come in!  One more (THE LAST TOOTH) is getting ready to come too.  The end is in sight!  She usually gets her teeth one at a time about a month apart.  Although it is tough, I am thankful it is all happening pretty close together.

Potty training is going great!  No accidents all weekend (not even when we were out).  I can’t believe she is going to be 2 in a month and a half.

My 30th Birthday

I am really behind on blogging…

On January 20th, I (and my sister) turned 30.  Jake wanted to throw me a big party but I just wasn’t in it being pretty pregnant and everything.

Our birthday fell on a Thursday.  It was great.  I got flowers from my class and my Mom.  Jake brought me a yummy lunch and my class was wonderful!  We had a dinner to go to that evening for Jake’s work so CB spent some extra time with Grandma.  We picked her up and headed home.

I was told to pack a bag for Saturday night and Callie Beth was staying at Grandma’s house.  If you know me pretty well, it is near impossible to surprise me.  Jake did great at keeping it a secret!

We dropped Callie Beth off late afternoon.  Jake got a condo for us to stay in overlooking the Bay.  The condo was adorable.  We watched the sunset and drank wine.  Yes, non-alcoholic wine for me.IMG_4619 The view…IMG_4600IMG_4613 He then made me sushi (of course nothing raw) as an appetizer.  IMG_4620 Then we headed out a little later to one of my favorite local restaurants (Nana’s Irish Pub) for dinner, live music and dessert.  They have a chocolate bread pudding that is amazing…

I had a wonderful birthday.  I am not at all worried about being 30.  I think my 30s are going to be pretty great! Most importantly, we will get to meet the new addition to make us a family of 4!

Long time…Busy and lots of change!

Wow…I can’t believe I haven’t updated this in so long.  We have had a lot going on.

1.) We all had the stomach bug!  Yuck!  It started with Callie Beth, then 2 days later hit Jake, and 2 more days, me!  It is really not fun being pregnant and having that.  The day is was over, I had to  fast and then go to the 3 hour glucose test.  I am so glad we are all healthy again!

2.) We are buying a new house…after a week of negotiations, the owner accepted our offer.  All we are waiting on is the appraisal (which should be fine).  If that comes back okay, we will set a closing date and will be moving.  This weekend we have been packing and getting the house in order!  Thank goodness it was a nasty, rainy weekend because we got a lot done!   I will tell you more about the new house when we have a closing date.  We are REALLY excited.

3.) Potty Training: She is basically potty trained.  She has had one little accident the last 3 days.  She is in full underwear all day and pull ups at night (at home).  It is SO nice!  I love seeing that cute butt run around in underwear…with NO diaper :)

4.) Callie Beth now has one 2 year molar and the other bottom is getting ready to come through.  Boy…I am SO ready for her to be done.  She is such a sweet little girl but when she doesn’t feel well, watch out! :)

Taking a rest with MomIMG_0518 The bottom of Callie Beth’s swing is out since we are getting things ready.  She sat in it…we told her it was for her baby brother.  She jumped up, went and got her baby and got back in.  Adorable!  IMG_4573

27 Weeks!

I went for a check up at 25 weeks.  Everything looked great.  Benjamin’s heart rate was 151.  I also had my one hour glucose test (which I failed with Callie Beth just by a couple points).  My doctor told me not to have any sugars so I didn’t.  I really had NONE the night before and all day.  Well, this time I MAJORLY failed!

So, this past week I went for the lovely 3 hour glucose test (which ended up taking 4 hours after all was said and done).  I passed with flying colors.  They think my body freaked out for the one hour after not having any sugars and then drinking that lovely drink.  Who knows!  It is over now and we are all healthy!

I feel pretty good and hope it  continues.  There have been a couple days where he has been up in my ribs but once he moves, there is no pain.  He was measuring a tiny bit big but it is still early.

After everything we went though with my labor and Callie Beth’s delivery, we have decided a C-Section is the best for all of us.  The chance of re-breaking my tail bone is very likely.  I also think I would be scared to death to push the way I need to.  I can heal from a C-Section a lot faster than I can heal from a broken tail bone.  I can’t even imagine going through that again with a 2 year old running around.  As of right now, I am scheduled for April 11th.  It was really strange getting to decide our sons birthday.  It will be here before we know it!

Potty Time

This past week we have been potty training!!!!!  With me being home for a good amount of time and her showing readiness I thought it would be a good time.  I really don’t want two kids in diapers!

We said bye bye to the diapers and put on big girl underwear.  Monday started out rough with lots of accidents and by Thursday we were down to just one accident all day!  I was SO SO excited.

Well, Thursday night Callie Beth was up most of the night (Welcome 2 year molar).  Have I mentioned how Callie Beth is a HORRIBLE teether?  3 more teeth to go!!!

Friday she was miserable and grumpy.  Potty training was the last thing she wanted to do.  At this point, she has now learned how to control her bladder but doesn’t want to release on the potty.  She not only felt bad from her tooth but she would make herself miserable holding it.  I got so frustrated!  I thought, well maybe she is too young but then I think back to Thursday and I know she got it!  It was a rough day!

So we are getting better each day.  She only wears pull ups at night and underwear all day.  I am nervous because she is off to Tia’s tomorrow and then Grandma’s house later in the week.  Good luck Tia and Merrie!  Thank you for helping me with this!

Any advice??

It was strange but definitely nice for her to not be in diapers.  And it is NOT easy finding underwear to fit this little girl.
