We decided it was the perfect time to switch to a big girl room and bed when we moved. That way, we cut down on the transitions. New house…new room…new bed. Especially since there will be new daycare and new brother here in the next few weeks! Poor girl!
She was SO excited…we had been talking to her about it for awhile. She just wanted to sit in it while we were putting everything together. Adorable.

When it came time to go to sleep, we tucked her in and she about got up. It was as if she was thinking “okay, this is fun but where is my crib?” But then she went right to sleep and she was out. She did wake up once but went right back to sleep. Great first night.

It has taken some training. I am really glad we did this now because I couldn’t do it with a newborn. She got in the habit of coming in to our bed when she was sick. Jake loved it because he can cuddle with her. But this wouldn’t work with Ben coming soon. So new bed, no more Mom and Dad’s bed.
There has been a few nights where she wakes up and wants our bed. (Thank you last molar which is giving her a hard time). But we can usually talk her into going back to sleep after a quick trip to the potty.
One night going to bed, she would NOT stay in bed. She kept asking for cookies, or Dora, or Daddy’s bed. I think I put her back in bed 100 times within that hour. I was strong and she finally surrendered! She has not gotten out of bed since. Hopefully that was a good lesson learned.
I am waiting on some curtains, letters for above her bed and a new door and her room will be complete! I will post pics of the complete room soon.
